"Through my internship, I embody this value by dedicating my skills and efforts to improve educational outcomes, reflecting ADPi’s and Ednovates' commitment to making a positive difference in the world."
Hi!
My name is Marlee Calles Palacios and I am a junior from South Central LA majoring in Psychology and minoring in Gender Studies. This summer, I returned for a second year as an Operations Intern at Ednovate Inc. At Ednovate our mission is “Together, we use our college degrees and careers to make a positive multigenerational change.” I resonate with this mission as it reminds me of two of our core values at ADPi, service and sisterhood.
As Alpha Delta Pi’s Wellness Specialist, I enhanced critical skills in organization, time management, and teamwork. These skills have proven crucial during my internship, where I collaborate with various departments to ensure the smooth operation of the school network. As an Operations Intern, I have had the opportunity to give back to my community by supporting educators. This role allows me to contribute to the enhancement of educational processes and resources, directly impacting the lives of students. This commitment to service aligns perfectly with ADPi's core value of service. Through my internship, I embody this value by dedicating my skills and efforts to improve educational outcomes, reflecting ADPi’s and Ednovates' commitment to making a positive difference in the world.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my internship has been connecting with leaders and receiving mentorship from successful women, reinforcing ADPi's core value of sisterhood. This mentorship mirrors ADPi's principles of cultivating meaningful relationships and empowerment, which have also been crucial for my academic success. Balancing UCLA's coursework became manageable with my sisters' support, fostering a strong sense of community. I love studying in our library, always seeing a familiar face for encouragement. ADPi provided the support group I needed to thrive academically and personally at UCLA. As I head back to school this fall, I am excited to continue our traditions within ADPi and face new challenges with confidence, knowing my sisters have my back every step of the way.
