Welcome to the Alpha Chi Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at University of California, Los Angeles!

 

My name is Ella Shaw, and I am the Chapter President. On behalf of our lovely Alpha Chi Chapter, I want to take this time to thank you for checking out our website! Whether you are a New Bruin or a current student at UCLA, I know that finding community can seem overwhelming, especially at such a large university. I am so grateful to have found mine within the walls of 808 Hilgard Ave.

 

Coming from a small town in California, I never imagined going to school in such a big city. I made the decision to go through formal recruitment because I heard from family and friends how joining Greek life transformed not only their college experiences, but the rest of their lives too. I took a big leap of faith and got to run home to ADPi in the Fall of 2023, and suddenly college didn’t seem so scary. During my time in this chapter, I have been able to meet like-minded women who value sisterhood, service, character, and knowledge. I couldn’t imagine my college experience surrounded by anyone else. These are the girls who cheer me on, celebrate my wins, dry my tears, and continue to help me grow into the best version of myself. Our sisters have been with me for every season of my college experience, the good ones and the bad, the crazy ones and the unforgettable, and everything in between. Alpha Delta Pi has believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself, and have uplifted me to serve others wholeheartedly. I am so lucky to have served as our chapter’s Community Service Specialist and Director of Philanthropy, but I will be forever grateful for the trust my sisters have put in me to serve as their Chapter President. These incredible experiences have helped guide me through my days at UCLA, and none of these things could have been done without the genuine love and support I receive from this chapter every single day.

 

Alpha Delta Pi’s open motto is “We Live for Each Other” – a phrase I see lived out every single day by all my sisters. These words are a part of each member and are seen in everything we do. It truly embodies what it means to be an Alpha Delta Pi. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our chapter. Being able to represent this community of women has been nothing short of a privilege, and I am so excited for the year ahead. I hope that as you explore our sisterhood, you are able to picture yourself loving, leading, and growing alongside the women of Alpha Chi, my home.
