"Whether it's when we cook warm meals for families through Meals with Love at the Ronald McDonald House of Pasadena, help out at the Walk for Kids, or raise funds through our Lion’s Cup soccer tournament, I feel like I’m giving back to something I deeply understand."

Hi!

I’m Amity, a UCLA student majoring in Psychobiology and Neuroscience, and a proud member of Alpha Delta Pi. One of the things that drew me to ADPi was our chapter’s philanthropy, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). This organization has such a special place in my heart because of the way it supports families during some of the most difficult times of their lives.

Even though my dad wasn’t a child, his own health journey showed me just how powerful an organization like RMHC can be. When he was diagnosed with lung cancer and brain tumors, my family and I faced long commutes to and from the hospital. The drive was exhausting, and there were countless restless days and sleepless nights spent worrying and trying to balance everything. It would have been so nice if there had been a place nearby where my family could stay together, recharge, and still be close to him while he was receiving treatment. RMHC provides exactly that for families, relief, community, and the chance to focus on what truly matters, being there for their loved one.

Through ADPi, I’ve been able to actively support this cause in so many meaningful ways. Whether it's when we cook warm meals for families through Meals with Love at the Ronald McDonald House of Pasadena, help out at the Walk for Kids, or raise funds through our Lion’s Cup soccer tournament, I feel like I’m giving back to something I deeply understand. Every event reminds me of my dad’s fight, my family’s strength, and the incredible difference RMHC makes for people facing similar hardships.

Being part of ADPi has shown me that philanthropy isn’t just about service, it’s about connection. My sisters inspire me every day with their dedication and compassion, and together, we’re able to make a real impact. Supporting RMHC through ADPi has been one of the most rewarding parts of my college journey, and I’m so grateful to stand alongside such passionate women as we work to lift up families when they need it most.
