"I never would have imagined myself in a sorority, but thanks to Rori I now have the best community a girl could ask for."

Hi friends!

My name is Saiya Shah and I am a Junior from Orange County majoring in Computational and Systems Biology. I love it here at ADPI and I’ve met some of the best people here. They’ve taught me the value of real sisterhood and friendship and have stood by me through thick and thin. One of those girls is Rori Anderson.

When I was assigned Rori Anderson as my roommate freshman year I had no idea that we would quickly become best friends. However, from nightly yap sessions to an eventful night at the ER, we formed an unbreakable bond. She never made me feel like I was too much or crazy and was always ready for our next adventure together. More than that, even though I didn’t rush in the fall, she always invited me to her ADPI events and made me feel welcomed. Of course when I finally joined ADPI spring quarter through COB, she was the first one to greet me at the door and welcome me into our home. We have had a blast together at tailgates and date parties, and I can’t wait to create more memories with her these next two years.

My ADPIs stand by me not only during the good times, but the bad ones too. When I found out my mom had been diagnosed with breast cancer, Rori offered me a hug and a shoulder to cry on, reassuring me that I did not have to go through this on my own.

Looking back, I never would have imagined myself in a sorority, but thanks to Rori I now have the best community a girl could ask for. I am so excited to meet all of the PNMs in the fall, and can’t wait to share with you more about all the amazing memories me and Rori have made together here at ADPI.

With love,

Saiya Shah

P.S Thank you Rori, for everything.
