Favorite Sisterhood: Rori Anderson PC '23

"Looking back I feel that sisterhood was the perfect way to represent ADPi. Not only were we doing a unique fun activity that let us explore LA, but also it showed how eager everyone is to make friends in the chapter and how welcoming everyone is."

Hey hey!!

My name is Rori and I am a rising second-year majoring in Public Affairs and minoring in English. I joined ADPi in the fall quarter of my freshman year and it has been one of the best decisions I have made in college. One of the things I love most about the chapter is all the activities and events we have together. One of my favorite events was our Dessert Crawl Sisterhood.

The dessert crawl took place just a few days after Bid Day so I knew very few people which was exciting and scary. While I looked forward to meeting new people, I also worried it would be awkward or that everyone would already have their friends. Instead, what I found was a group of people who all wanted to get to know each other. Everyone introduced themselves to each other and started conversations with people they had never met. This was very reassuring to me and a great welcome into the chapter.

I still remember conversations I had with people on the bus rides to different places and outside the dessert stores. At our last stop, we wandered around in small groups and I talked to people who are some of my closest friends now. I even have a vlog in my camera roll of making random people I had never met before trying the gross dessert I got at one of the spots, and the people in the vlog are the opposite of random now.

Looking back, I feel that sisterhood was the perfect way to represent ADPi. Not only were we doing a unique fun activity that let us explore LA, but also it showed how eager everyone is to make friends in the chapter and how welcoming everyone is. I can’t wait for the year to start to welcome the new members and for the fun sisterhoods with them!
