Why Adpi: Ahna Muhlon PC' 21

"ADPi is a place where I can pursue my passions without judgment. It’s comforting to know that I’m surrounded by such special women."

Hi everyone :)

I’m Ahna Muhlon, and I’m a second-year double majoring in Communication and Political Science. I’m originally from New Jersey, but I recently moved to Orange County. Being from the East Coast, it was scary to come all the way to California where I didn’t know anyone. Fortunately, that changed quickly.

I’ve always wanted to be in a sorority, and ADPi immediately welcomed me with so much love and support. In the span of a year, I’ve made incredible memories and friends who I know will always be by my side.

I’ve spent countless hours in the TV room with my best friends, eating Chef Peter’s brunch, watching movies, and talking about our lives. These are women that I see in my life forever, through all of life’s milestones—graduations, weddings, birthdays, and more. I’m forever grateful to ADPi for bringing them into my life. I look forward to each event knowing that they’ll be there with me, making memories to last a lifetime.

I’ve loved being co-panhellenic relations specialist with one of my best friends, and I’ve recently taken on a role with the social media team. ADPi is a place where I can pursue my passions without judgment. It’s comforting to know that I’m surrounded by such special women. ADPi is filled with such incredible and genuine women who I know I could talk to about anything.

I’ll never forget the first time I met my Big, Emmy. It was the first time I had gone to the HOP by myself for lunch, and I was nervous. Not only did she take time out of her day to help me look for a computer charger so that I wouldn’t have to walk all the way back to the Hill, but she also walked with me back to the Hill when we ultimately couldn’t find one. In that 15-minute walk, I knew that I wanted Emmy to be my friend, and it solidified that ADPi was the right place for me.

This selflessness is something I see in every member of ADPi. I could strike up a conversation with any of these incredible women, whether we are in the dining room or on campus, and each one would sit with me, answering my questions with such genuineness. It’s comforting to know that they have my back at the end of the day.

It’s one thing to join a sorority, but another thing to stay in it. I choose ADPi every day because there’s always a smiling face to greet you when you walk through those big blue doors (or through the back patio). I choose ADPi because I’m surrounded by such welcoming and special women. I choose ADPi because it feels like home and I couldn’t be more thankful. Joining ADPi was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
