"Those are the feelings that radiate through Adpi consistently; during every brunch, chapter meeting, party, or sisterhood event, it feels as though there is always someone who is happy to see you. "
Hi PNMS; I’m Chloe Rosenstock and I’m PC Class 2019. I am a Sociology Major with a minor in Community Engagement and Social Change.
I was never someone who saw myself rushing a sorority in college; in high school, I was always very into theatre and found my community largely within the performing arts. Upon entering college, some of my high school friends encouraged me to branch out and take a chance on rushing. They knew I had not found the most supportive group of girl friends in high school and that it was always something I desired, and many of their older friends had positive experiences rushing. I thought, why not! Might as well take the chance. I cannot express how glad I am that I did.
Immediately during the wild process of rush, I felt home at adpi. The girls just understood me! They were excited about my passions and willing to share about themselves in an authentic way. I did not feel judged or anxious in their presence; I felt comfortable and embraced. Those are the feelings that radiate through Adpi consistently; during every brunch, chapter meeting, party, or sisterhood event, it feels as though there is always someone who is happy to see you.
On the other hand, my sisters at adpi constantly challenge me intellectually. I have seldom seen so many intelligent women in one room. I remember in my fall quarter I took a museum studies course with two other Adpis, and they had such smart and insightful things to say every single time we checked in with one another. Two of us ended up visiting a museum together; the whole time we were there we couldn’t stop applying the things that excited us from class to the works we saw around us.
That’s what I love about adpi; we can go from engaging in intellectual discussions to dance parties to sharing makeup to napping on twin sized beds together to talking about our crushes to sharing our most precious secrets. Adpi is a place where you can feel completely and totally yourself, and I have this chapter to thank for some of the most positive relationships I have ever had.
