Why Adpi: Jacky Miller PC'18

"The best decision I’ve made in college was joining ADPi. My best friends in the world are the women of this chapter and there is no way I would be the person I am today without the opportunities I’ve had here."

I joined ADPi the fall of my freshman year and the girl that joined the house then is barely recognizable compared to who I have become. The people I’ve met in this chapter and the leadership positions I’ve been able to take on have helped me to grow and embrace myself in a way that was so unfamiliar to me before. I’m surrounded by some of the weirdest, funniest, most driven, just incredible women that have helped me to grow and pushed me to succeed.

These are the people that have dragged me to a library every night of finals week to pull an all-nighter studying together. Those who have been there for me every single morning making sure I’m starting out the day on a positive note in the times when I felt like I couldn’t get myself out of bed. The people who constantly make me smile and to look out for me in every scenario I can think of but also aren’t afraid to call me out and help me realize when I’m wrong. The ones I stayed up with until 5 am in the South Wing bathroom because we couldn’t find a good stopping point in our deep talk. Those who I’ve now lived with for going on 4 of the most impactful years of my life and I wouldn’t trade that for the world.

Going through recruitment, I had the unique experience where I knew ADPi was the house for me from day 1. The authenticity of the convos I had were literally unmatched and frankly hilarious. Not everyone going through recruitment will have the same experience, and not everyone who joined our house can say it happened for them the same.

The best decision I’ve made in college was joining ADPi. My best friends in the world are the women of this chapter and there is no way I would be the person I am today without the opportunities I’ve had here. Throughout all the changes I’ve undergone in college growing into who I am today, ADPi has been there for me as my strongest support system. I am surrounded by driven, empowered and successful women who interact compassionately with the world around them and push me everyday to be a better version of myself. No other decision has impacted every aspect of my life in such a resolutely positive way.
